Otterlo is the ideal base for an unforgettable stay in the Veluwe. In the immediate area, you'll find an extensive network of beautiful walking and cycling routes that take you through vast pine forests, purple heath fields, and impressive shifting sand areas.

Explore the beautiful nature reserve Planken Wambuis, where you might spot red deer or wild boars with a bit of luck. For nature lovers, the Loenense Waterfall is also a must-see. This waterfall is situated in a stunning rolling landscape and can be perfectly combined with a walk along the varied Vrijenberg route. Additionally, visit the iconic Posbank, the literal and figurative highlight of the Veluwezoom National Park. Here, you can enjoy spectacular views over the expansive heath fields and forests.

Another remarkable natural phenomenon is Kootwijkerzand, also known as the 'Sahara of the Low Countries.' This impressive nature reserve forms the largest active sand drift in Western Europe and offers a unique landscape that you won't find anywhere else in the Netherlands.

In addition to all the natural beauty, two charming cities are also within reach. In the cozy Arnhem, you can enjoy shopping in the many boutiques and have lunch or dinner along the lively Rhine quay. Nijmegen, the oldest city in the Netherlands, is also well worth a visit. Wander through the historic city center and admire the Grote Markt.
